The Newman Center Endowed Scholarship And Fellowship Program
The Newman Center is blessed to have a special endowment to fund these fellows and scholars. Each year for the Scholarships; students may submit a proposal which indicates how they intend to interface Catholic principles and professional life, typically in their Major area of study. As part of their grant they research their topic in the Fall semester; then they offer seminars in the Spring semester so that other students and faculty can benefit from their scholarship.
For the Fellowships; students may apply for a fellowship in one of four areas of ministry: Bible study, Justice and Peace, Music Ministry, Student Outreach on campus. The Fellows receive a stipend so that they can learn this ministry skill under the direction of a Staff mentor at the Newman Center. These ministry skills will be applicaple in future parishes which these Fellows join after graduation.
